I’ve been reading the book “What To Say When You Talk To Yourself” by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. Whether you believe what he’s saying or not, it definitely gives you something to think about. I thought it was info worth sharing with you:
“It is our programming that sets up our beliefs, and the chain reaction begins. In logical progression, what we believe determines our attitudes, affects our feelings, directs our behavior, and determines our success or failure:
1. Programming creates beliefs
2. Beliefs create attitudes
3. Attitudes create feelings
4. Feelings determine actions
5. Actions create results
That’s how the brain works. If you want to manage yourself in a better way, and change your results, you can do so at any time you choose. Start with the first step. Change your programming.”

I talk to myself a lot, sometimes out loud and sometimes like a dialogue in my head. Both serve good uses. What you say to yourself is very important, though, and don’t be shy to take up the new character that needs to be easy or harsh or whatever to you.
And don’t go crazy doing it, of course.
I’m going to pick this book up. Thanks for sharing.
Okay, I almost burned the rice listening to this. I’m particularly interested in the weight loss part.
I do listen and read Wayne Dyer….reading his Tao book right now.

Haha, you crack me up. I don’t know about the weight loss thing but hey, can’t hurt anything to try. I do know one thing….when my mind is occupied…like when I’m on the computer — I don’t even stop to eat.
