actually within the last couple of months I heard a story on NPR interviewing the actual Physician who advises the House show, and she gives real stories for them to use.. like the time the patient caught fire in the OR, true story! It was fascinating.
DF: Thanks for the info. I had wondered whether or not these were true cases. I don’t remember the episode where the patient caught fire. It sounds familiar. I’ll have to check it out on hulu or fancast.
As a House fan, I play spot the diagnosis. Most medical dramas I get 8/10 right. With House, about 2/10, which isn’t bad.
I must write the accounts a midwife friend told me about of her work with the intellectually challenged….how about the Biscuit Tin method of contraception. Go figure!
V: I don’t even want to ask. I’m sure your story would be fascinating. Don’t you feel like you’re kind of getting an education watching House. Makes me want to get out my own white board and brainstorm problems.
